Become a Class or Zoom Host

Join a unique group of volunteers!

Class Hosts and Zoom Hosts set LIFE apart.

Every course, regardless of format, has the welcoming presence of a Class Host or a Zoom Host to help ensure the high quality of the LIFE learning experience. It’s a great way to meet other LIFE members with similar interests.

The Class Host:

  • Emails or makes phone calls before the start of term to advise room numbers, directions, start date and time
  • Assists with issues or concerns
  • Takes class attendance
  • Passes out evaluation forms or other handouts
  • Makes announcements about LIFE events and activities
  • ...and more.

The Zoom Host:

  • Connect with your instructor to introduce yourself as their Zoom Host and provide virtual support if needed
  • Assist in helping members who have audio or video issues to the best of your ability
  • During the first class remind participants about online classroom etiquette
  • Reminding participants to complete the course evaluation.
  • Providing feedback and communicating questions/comments/concerns made by class members to LIFE staff and instructors for best practices
  • ...and more
